New Twitter Home Page
Search and trending topics are the new center of the recently released twitter homepage. Trending topics have quickly become a great way to find out about new things happening around the world and the staff at twitter have seen the potential.
Twitter began as a rudimentary social tool based on the concept of status messages but together with those who use it every day, the service has taught us what it wants to be. From features invented by users to applications built on the platform, we’re still discovering potential. Twitter has moved from simple social networking into a new kind of communication and a valuable source of timely information. Also, it’s fun.
The new twitter homepage for people that are not logged in showcases trending topics of the moment, trending topics of the day and of the week. It also puts a search bar in a central location for searching tweets. The new twitter bird can also be seen replacing the old yet well known version.
twe4ked studios V.5; Yodeling Yak
The era of the Yodeling Yak is upon you all, welcome to my redesigned blog. The redesign of this site has been underway for a few months now, but in the last week(ish) I have put in some proper time and effort to bring this design to life.
I started out with a basic list of things I wanted to change, this included; a dedicated homepage with a separate page for my blog, a white design, a useful footer and a wider 960px layout. Just about all of the designs of this site have been black, back since before I used wordpress and I’ve wanted to make it lighter for a while mainly because I am so comfortable with dark designs I needed to get out of the ordinary for myself. I did however make the footer dark grey (very dark grey #111) so as not to step to far out of my comfort zone. The wider layout is something I have needed for a long time, for some reason the site was still stuck in the 760px width and there was just way to much wasted space, even 960px is fairly small these days but it seems to be a nice standard to work with.
There are still a few things that need updating, such as old posts and the Archives page isn’t finished yet also my portfolio only has a handful of my work in it. If you see anything that doesn’t look quite right, I have probably overlooked it so please let me know in the comments. I would also love to hear your comments and criticisms in the comments (that are now finally threaded) so tell me what you think! If you’re new here and want to see what this site looked like before tonight check out my old design and tell me what you think of the change.
