2008 Reflections
All the little things
Last year I completed a few little projects, I wrote and recorded my first song, I got my blog back online (as mentioned below), I made my first screencast on a very simple topic but it was a screencast none the less, I have still to post about it but you can find it here. I created a set of noir style comic book images in photoshop for my media class major work and topped the class in the subject getting a 90% overall mark from the board of studies and a >90% internal mark. I made my first two band websites, the first for In Hearts Wake a local hardcore band from byron bay and the second a new hip-hip artist from Melbourne, Big Teq.
Wordpress returns to twe4ked.com
2008 saw the return of wordpress to twe4ked.com, I had a static website up for about a year before deciding to switch back to running a blog. Wordpress is such a great tool for creating websites and the templating system is great. One of my new years resolutions is to blog more and wordpress is the key. I also redesigned a few times and I am finally happy with the current theme.
Turning 18
I finally turned 18 on the 7th of June, this is a big thing in Australia as it allows you to go to anything, so many times a band has been playing locally and being an over 18s event I had to miss out, since turning 18 the amount of live music I have seen has grown immensly.
HSC – Finishing School
Another big thing to happen this year is the finishing of my school life, now its out into the big world! My plans are to move to Sydney with some close friends and try to get a steady job in web design. I went well in both my design subjects and am generally happy with my results.
Bali/Scooter Crash
Schoolies is a time of year, just after the last of the exams are over for everyone finishing year 12. Me and 11 other people decided to hit Bali some time at the start of year 12 and planned all the way through 2008 for the big trip, the dates were set for the 1st of December till the 24th. The trip was amazing as expected as we traveled around Bali. Our journy started in Legian before traveling to Uluwatu, Sanur, Noosa Lambogan, back to Sanur and then out to Ubud after stopping at ‘Kramas’ a local surf break. Ubud is where my holiday sadly came to an end. I slid out around a corner in the wet on a hire scooter at about 2am and ended up in a Bali hospital with a massive cut on my left foot (I could see my bone) and a broken femur in my right leg, after spending 36 more hours in BIMC an international Bali hospital, I was flown out by Care Flight to Perth were I spent the rest of my holiday (11th – 24th) They put a pin through the middle of my femur and screwed it in place. Bali was awesome!
2009 and beyond!
2009 is shaping up to be a great year, with my schooling out of the way and plans to head to the big smoke it should be great! Now I have to wait for my leg to heal till I can start working to get money to move down to Sydney.
